PANIC IN INSTAGRAMLAND
Aiiii, all Instagram stalkers unite. Panic, panic! Last weekend there was news about a new update, but this time one that the Sherlock Holmes among us might be a bit less happy about. Confession: that detective emoticon? That's me. But from now on, I have to be more careful, they say.
As you probably have noticed, Instagram is moving more towards the Snapchat side. Recently, we can upload videos that disappear after 24 hours. And it's also great that you can see who is watching all your videos, even if they don't follow you. Watching, watching, but not following, I see you all. Virtual wave.
But then last weekend, the news came out that nowadays (just like on Snapchat) you get notifications when something of yours is screenshotted. PANIC! #!@%?! Is the era of online instastalking over? Can we never take screenshots of that handsome guy you secretly have a crush on? Or of that new girlfriend of your ex, who is clearly a downgrade?
“Watching, watching, but not following, I see you all. Virtual wave.”
Don’t worry, guys. I looked it up for you. Yes, it is true that you receive a notification if something of yours is screenshotted. But: only if it is a private photo or video that you send to someone and that is also deleted after 24 hours. Now all together: phewww. But do you want to laugh with your friends about a dickpic that that one jerk (ha) sent your way? Well, then he just gets that screenshot notification. His own fault.
But uh, Insta, when can we expect those cool filters from Snapchat already?
