The best movies of 2016 you must have seen before the new year

Here we are again lounging on the couch with a list of lazy bums, you know. Yesterday I was talking about all the books you had to read before the end of the year and now I'm back with a list of movies. They say it's going to get colder this week so it's allowed, it's allowed. A cup of tea on the side, snuggie on, relaxation mode on. And with three weeks to go until the new year, here are some top picks from 2016 that you want to see before ringing in the new year.

The Lobster

Okay, I personally found this really brilliant, but if you try to explain the storyline to someone they might think: WTF. In short: Colin Farrell has to check into a hotel and has forty-five days to find a partner. If he doesn't succeed in that time? He transforms into a lobster. Just trust me, you want to see this.

Hell or High Water

I want to see everything with Chris Pine right away. Great movie. Do you have a date night and want to watch something you know he would also find entertaining? This one.

Arrival

See here why you should see this.

Me Before You

The list is of course not complete without a romantic tearjerker. Arrange a night with your besties for the new year instead of with your boy (he really doesn't want to see this), a few bars of Tony's chocolate, a bottle of wine, and a lot of tissues.

Finding Dory

In the category #ForeverYoung this is a must. We had to wait eleven years for a sequel to Finding Nemo, and it was worth the wait. Ellen DeGeneres once again shows that she is a class act as forgetful sweet blue fish Dory.

Bridget Jones’s Baby

This is just a must-watch. It's so enjoyable with your besties. With the bonus: Patrick Dempsey.
