THE FIVE BEAUTY TREATMENTS YOU WANT TO DO BEFORE CHRISTMAS

All those parties (read drinks), drinks (drinks), and Christmas dinners (drinks) this month are all very nice and cozy, but before Christmas has even arrived, we are already sprawled out next to that Christmas tree. Not pretty at all. What can we do to still plop down at the Christmas table looking rested and Christmas-proof? Because in the end, we have that busyness and fatigue in our own hands, of course. Time to mark a cross in your agenda and schedule some me-time. You want to have these treatments done before you head into Christmas.

1. Peeling

A peeling is a treatment where a thin layer of skin is removed, reducing imperfections like fine lines, acne, and scars. You can do a peeling yourself, but you can also have it done at a beauty salon. Chemical peels can yield beautiful results, but only if done by a skilled beautician. After just one treatment, your skin already looks much more radiant. No time to make an appointment for that facial? Nowadays, you can pamper your skin with a peeling from a bottle. My absolute favorite is the Micro Peel from Kiehl’s. Put it on your list. You will thank me.

2. A good blow-dry

Because yes, hair is sacred. For the most beautiful curls, we crawl into the chair at Rachel's in the editorial office. The Building. The Building even has a so-called Express Bar where you can go for a quick hair fix. And it opens at 8:00 AM, so you can do it nicely before work. Your breakfast is taken care of. And if you really don't have time (or peace) to plop down in the hairdresser's chair, then you can just get to work yourself, right? With our new hair tutorials, you can create your own festive look in no time. We got to try out Berni Ottjes and his Dyson hairdryer last week. Believe me, you want that one.

3. Massage

And if you book that facial, do it right and make it a spa moment. The best way to be kind to your body is to pamper it with a massage. Having your skin massaged releases dopamine, which creates a feeling of happiness. A massage also helps reduce the stress hormone cortisol. Of course, you can also look sweetly at your partner tonight. Although the chance that you will be next in line tomorrow night is very high.

4. Mani/pedi

You complete your Christmas look with a nice set of nails. Now, I don't really have the best nail skills; I don't start anymore. Off to the ladies at OPI who provide me with perfectly polished nails. It saves you a lot of stress at the last minute if you still have to adjust your polish to your outfit. Dive into your wardrobe now (one less worry) so you don't have to think about that last minute. Oh, and glam up your nails and go for a cute little Christmas tree on your pinky...

5. Eyelashes

All day long, I look at the Bambi eyes of our Lilian. Don't tell anyone, but she owes those beautiful eyes partly to a set of eyelash extensions. A nice little thing; you wake up beautifully even before you've rubbed your eyes (NO, never do that, rubbing your eyes, goodbye eyelashes). Give me a set like that too, Lil.

6. Eyebrows

Well, you know where I'm quickly making an appointment on December 24... Brows on fleek.
