THE MOST ROMANTIC PLACES FOR A LITTLE FRENCH KISSING IN PARIS
My very first kiss was in Paris. Romantic, right? I also got my first real boyfriend there. By the way, he was an American and not a Frenchman, but oh well, minor detail. I just always have to think of an episode of Sex & The City where Carrie makes the remark: ‘They fell in love in Paris, how original.’ I just call that jealousy, Carrie. But anyways, are you going to that side with your boy soon? Then I have a list for you where you can enjoy a little kissing together. In other words: some French kissing. After all, you are in Paris. Here they come:
Bois de Boulogne
Jump on the metro together, get off at Porte Dauphine and stroll hand in hand through this park. Bonus: you can also rent a boat and reenact your own Notebook scene and secretly hope that your guy looks like Ryan Gosling.
In front of l’Hôtel de Ville
Just like the famous kiss in one of the most popular photos by Robert Doisneau. And make sure to kiss while walking, okay? Otherwise, it doesn’t count.
Champs de Mars
Bring a blanket, a bottle of red, and only go there when it’s dark. If you’re not sure where Champs de Mars is; it’s that little park right across from the Eiffel Tower. So you have both the perfect view and you can enjoy it while the tower sparkles with thousands of lights every hour. Romaaaantic.
‘They fell in love in Paris, how original.’
Quai des Orfèvres
And if you’re not really into parks, just take that same bottle of wine and sit by the water at Quai des Orfèvres. It might be good to mention that I wouldn’t recommend this if it’s -10 outside. Or in the rain. Although, kissing together under an umbrella does have its charm in the romance department.
Pont Neuf
The oldest bridge in Paris. It just has to be checked off.
La place de la Contrescarpe
Tip from May. Especially in winter when it’s decorated with Christmas lights. Oh la la, quite the place to get lucky.
La place de Furstenberg
Another little square where you feel like you’re on a movie set. And preferably in spring when the trees are beautifully in bloom. With one leg up when you’re being kissed, just like in the movie.
Toilets of Palais de Tokyo
Just a little insight from the team Franska.co.uk that came up with this. I won’t name names, but I’ve heard that they have toilets in Palais de Tokyo with two toilets next to each other. Not that you go to the loo next to each other, of course, but secretly enjoying ten minutes of kissing in the Palais. And I say ten minutes because the person who whispered this to me also mentioned that there’s literally a sign saying you can’t use the toilet for more than ten minutes.
The book stalls next to the Seine
Also a must. And preferably have a third wheel with you to take a photo of you kissing, because that will score a lot of likes on Insta.
Yeah pfff. Sucks now that I’m single.
