Wat te doen dit weekend
by Theo Bakana
For those who missed it; the day before yesterday was the shortest day of the year. So you know what that means: the only way is up. The days will get longer again, and that's already very nice to look forward to. Furthermore, there is more fun to look forward to, namely Christmas. Yes, it suddenly appears before our noses from an unexpected corner. Well, Sky Radio has certainly been able to prepare us nicely over the past few months, but still. It can be a shock. This weekend will be festive anyway. Who, what, and where? I'll tell you.
Yes, because we can't escape that of course. We can turn it this way or that way, but this weekend we once again celebrate the birth of the Christmas child. In the meantime, everyone has given their own twist to it. Some live for it, others don't care much about it* and for yet another third, it's a matter of planning, planning, planning. No matter which category you belong to, be extra kind to each other and enjoy the dinners. So, and now enough with the Christmas tree cuddling.
Christmas Day is probably already booked, so for Sunday you are already settled, but besides buying Christmas gifts, there is more fun tomorrow. The Glass House will be opened again. That sounds very festive and it is. I would definitely be very happy if I could indulge in a portion of oliebollen after a week of juices. But that's beside the point, because when the house is reopened, not only will the amount of money be announced, no, there will also be various performances on stage. And just for the Brabant coziness, a visit to the Grote Markt in Breda is a very good idea.
Do you want to do something cultural between all the meals? Then definitely go to 90 years of Marilyn at De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam. This exhibition is open on the 25th and 26th, so that's ideal. In the church, besides personal belongings, there are also photos and video clips to admire. This way you get to know her through the exhibition mevrouw Monroe as an artist, but you also learn about her lonely inner self. Definitely a nice outing between unpacking gifts and the first course.
Christmas and chill
Nothing better than plopping down on the couch in a good snuggie with leftovers from the day before. I already know what my second Christmas day will look like. This way you can flip from Princess Diaries (yes, I really said that, and no, I'm not ashamed) to Night at the Museum and of course Home Alone. Or you can just pick one and watch that, maybe more fun. You can also here get some inspiration.
So you guys will get through Christmas, right? And will you also turn on the Top 2000 on Saturday? The end of the year is really in sight. For now, have a nice weekend and enjoy your meal!
