With these five apps, you'll look your best on Instagram
– EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SMUDGE OF FOUNDATION OR A LITTLE MASCARA ON YOUR NOSE –
Our obsession in the editorial team for Instagram is quite large and I can reveal that some editors (I won't name names but I'm not one of them) have folders on their computers where ‘potential Instagram material’ is waiting. And, before that photo appears on Instagram, some other apps have already edited the photo so that no blemish – not that we have a problem with that – no stray hair or dark circles are visible anymore. Now I can imagine that you are very curious about those apps, in a time when a few extra kilos are hanging on from the Christmas dinner and the dark circles are hanging quite low, because that really gives you the best look you can wish for at this moment.
1. Facetune
If you're not having a great day, read: hundreds of blemishes and significant dark circles, then Facetune is definitely your best friend. It's basically just an alternative to Photoshop, because you can change a gray hair to a good color and give yourself a blemish-free complexion. The smooth function is by far the best tool in this app, although you have to be careful not to become a Barbie doll, because you can quickly go a step too far.
2. Pixtr
This is actually the easiest makeup app that exists. You upload a photo and then the app automatically gets to work on that photo, correcting it by itself. No more red eyes, no imperfections on the skin, no hassle, it all gets fixed for you.
3. VSCO Cam
The diehard Instagrammers definitely have this installed on their iPhone. It's not a very heavy filter, but you can make small adjustments with it so that you still look very much like yourself in the photo, but some handy tweaks are applied to tighten things up a bit. It gives the photo overall a bit more warmth or depth which removes silly shadows and makes everything look a bit fresher and nicer. And yes, that does a lot of good for dark circles and an unhealthy color too. 4. Faded.
For those who know Afterlight, Faded is also a really nice app. You're not going to make small facial adjustments with it, but rather the bigger and therefore more important work. You can adjust the temperature of the photo, boost the light a bit, and enhance the contrast. That also does a photo good, because you can tune yourself a bit with that.
5. Photo Makeover.
I personally find this the funniest app. Because even in the most grumpy photo, you can conjure up a smile and if your eyes are closed, you can get them to open a bit. Yes, it's quite bizarre, but very funny. You can also make your eyes a bit bigger,
handy for the day afters, , or make your nose a bit smaller. Customizing things has never been so easy., Our obsession in the editorial team for Instagram is quite large and I can reveal that some editors (I won't name names but I'm not one of them) have folders...
