That everyone should take advantage of
Ha, yesterday our Adeline was still talking about all the fun things you can do that (almost) cost nothing and now I have something for you if your heart always skips a beat at the word ‘free’. Namely: all free fun things that you can find online. From your savior in need when you're suffering from sleep deprivation to speaking all the languages of the world. Here they come:
1 Self-destructing email addresses
This is the answer to all that goddamn annoying spam that keeps ending up in your inbox. A temporary email address that automatically destroys itself after ten minutes. 10 Minute Mail ensures that you can sign up everywhere and that you won't be spammed with all those newsletters afterwards. How come I didn't know about this yet?
2 Calming music
Having trouble sleeping? Always too easily distracted? What you might need are calming sounds. And you don't need Spotify for that. Just look up A Soft Murmur become your own DJ and voilà: you'll fall asleep so easily and that mountain of paperwork you still had to get through suddenly ‘disappears’.
3 Learn a new language
Free and for nothing at Duolingo.
4 Watching documentaries
Sure, you can also just do that on our favorite online streamer Netflix, but Documentary Heaven has documentaries in abundance. If you're not participating in a dry January? Then I recommend ‘The Truth About Alcohol’. Perhaps you'll decide to put that alcohol aside next month.
5 Seven cups of tea
Not feeling great? Going through something difficult? Talking to others always helps, even if they are strangers. Through 7 Cups of Tea you can connect with people to share your story. So you have a therapist, but without the high costs. By the way, it's in English, but that shouldn't be a problem now that you're a pro in the language thanks to point number 3.
6 Photo editor
Well, these days it seems everything is shopped. Not so great with the program yourself? Then Pixlr is the ideal solution. It's both free and easy to learn. Happy shopping (but in a different way)!
7 Give something back
As soon as the word ‘free’ is mentioned, we rush towards it in hordes. That's why there's something in this list where we can do something good for someone else. Surf to Freerice and participate in the quiz. For every correct answer, ten grains of rice are donated to the World Food Programme. No, the questions are not about rocket science. You can do this, and you just have to do it.
