Bringing out my inner Simone
No worries, I won't give up my role as the chief of Team Snack. If someone wants a KitKat or pear candies, or someone feels like milk-peanut-cookiecrunch-choco, then I'll gladly take a little detour to get that. But now I'm also partly on the healthy path. Muscle pain in places I didn't know there were muscles - healthy path.
I've been feeling medium lately. There was a considerable lack of energy and due to other circumstances, I wasn't feeling great – it was just a mix of everything and what I needed was an outlet. And what's the best outlet when you're not quite in the mood? Indeed: sports.
I used to do that regularly, but lately my sports regime had slipped a bit too far into the background. Then suddenly there was May who went to work out at our neighbors Gym Republic in the afternoon and to my right sits of course the ultimate Gym Rat (I personally think that sounds way cooler than fitgirl) Simone. I got an invite from my friend Olivia to try out her new gym in Amsterdam: People’s Place Gym (more on that soon – it's really the best). Before I knew it, I was working out five out of seven days.
Yes, Simone is proud. And if I follow these nine tips , I might even be able to keep it up. I even found my old trusty bike at Rocycle where you can now find me about three evenings a week to sweat liters in three quarters of an hour. I mean: if you're really looking for a remedy for stress, this is ideal.
Another addition to my weekly sports regime is walking. My friend K and I have a walking date every weekend. Initially, it was always on Saturday morning (an anti-hangover walk) towards The Cold Pressed Juicery for a smoothie or a juice at Joe & The Juice, but nowadays we even do that without the hangover. Just because Amsterdam is too beautiful not to walk through. But also for this.
Speaking of walking; I'm just heading over to the gas station around the corner for a Snickers ice cream. Lilian, are you coming?
