FESTIVAL TALK

For when you don't have plans for King's Day yet

I recently came across a list of festivals worldwide that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. And do you know what was fun about it? King's Day was on it too. When friends of mine want to visit from abroad, I usually recommend they come then. Or for the Gay Parade. Those are really my two favorite days in the Netherlands and especially in Amsterdam (kijk hier, proof that this is really the best city for millennials!).

Now I have I don't know how many group chats with girlfriends where the question comes up almost daily about what everyone is going to do for King's Day. That's why I think it's time to share the best parties in the country (with the help of my lovely colleagues) for everyone who, like me, is still in doubt. Here they come:

Scheveningen

PIP

PIP on The Pier is the place to be if you ask our Theo. And it's also the place where you're going to run into him if you decide to celebrate King's Day at oh oh The Hague. In collaboration with Zeezout, they now have their second edition of the party after a successful first run.

Amsterdam

Hannekes Boom

I know, rain is forecasted and maybe not the warmest temperatures, but Hannekes Boom is definitely one of the coziest places in Amsterdam on this national holiday every year. Kingston Crown is the name of the party this time, and at the same time, the five-year anniversary of the Dutch brand Daily Paper is being celebrated. All info you can find here and lucky you: free entry!

Utrecht

Strand Soia

Our insiders in Utrecht (the sweetest Kiki and Annabelle) have let me know that when you're in Utrecht, you should drop by Strand Soia, because that's where the (free) King's Day party in the Sand is.

Maastricht

Kingsland

Are you in the hometown of our own Simone and looking for a little festival with a combination of house, hardstyle, and electro? Kingsland is definitely something for you. No ticket yet? They are still available (€28.50), but be quick!

Breda

538 King's Day

Breda has been the new home for 538 for a number of years now, so once again you will find the famous party here at Chasséveld. Who can you expect? American singer Gavin DeGraw, Kris Kross Amsterdam, Kensington, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, and Miss Montreal.

However, if you're more in the mood to just hang out at home and avoid all the hustle, cold, and rain (so sad that weather forecast)? Then luckily we still have Netflix. Trusty old Netflix. See here, here and here what I have on offer for you.
