THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY
Bertie Steur
Love. You couldn't avoid it this week. Who had an extra special Valentine's Day? My big farmer friend Bertie. She is incredibly happy with her new girlfriend Rosita (one of the letter writers from Farmer Wants a Wife season 8). And it's double the celebration because it's also her birthday today. Hip hip hooray for Bertie!
Bertie, how are you doing now?
“I'm doing well! I'm currently very busy with all sorts of things, that's true, but they are actually only fun things that are coming my way now.”
Already a bit recovered from the Expedition Robinson rollercoaster?
“I recovered from that pretty quickly, Christmas was so close behind, so the peace returned quickly, haha.”
And, a new love in your life? Tell me!
“Rosita was one of my speed dates at Farmer Wants a Wife 2.5 years ago and I was already very impressed by her and she was also quite impressed by me, I thought. However, we both ended up in different relationships, but when those fell apart, we reached out again via Facebook. We turned out to still have so much in common and since then we haven't left each other's side.”
House. Or speed garage, but I usually can't get the hands together with that, so it will probably be the first one.
How did you celebrate Valentine's this week?
“Very relaxed just the two of us on the couch at her place, no fuss. Being together is actually the very best Valentine's gift. It may sound corny, but it's really true...”
What's in your glass today?
“Roosvicee! Haha. And today I'm of course toasting extra for my birthday. I'm turning 43, an age that you don't celebrate so explicitly anymore, I think.”
What music are you playing?
“House. Or speed garage, but I usually can't get the hands together with that, so it will probably be the first one.”
Saturday and Sunday, what's on the agenda?
“On Saturday I'm riding Straô, that's a local horse festival where the legs are washed in the sea. Afterwards, we're going to party in the pub. Roos will be there too, so no late night for me this time. On Sunday I have muscle pain…”
Suppose earthly matters like time differences and travel times don't exist. What does your ideal weekend look like?
“It's very sweet (but hey, I'm on a pink cloud, so it’s allowed); as long as Roos is around, my weekend is good.”
Finally, the weekend is over. What time does your alarm go off on Monday and what is number 1 on that to-do list?
“That will be around 7 o'clock. The first thing to do is take Fidèle (the man of the house, my French bulldog) out and then feed the horses.”
