If you want something cool, you book Baz Luhrmann

From the H&M x Kenzo collection I was anything but warm, so when it became known that they would collaborate with Erdem this year, there was a mega sigh of relief from my side, because that guaranteed that a collection would come that I would most likely want all the items from. And that was true. It's insane. And to better portray that insane collection, there is only one man for the job, in my opinion. Enter: Baz Luhrmann.

Baz entered my life when I saw Moulin Rouge for the first time, which made me dream of singing a medley of love songs with Ewan McGregor on top of a fake elephant. Baz portrayed Paris in the most magical way, making me fall even more in love with the city where I lived at the time.

And let's not forget Romeo + Juliet with the then 19-year-old DiCaprio. His way of making films was innovative and refreshing, and he knew exactly how to give something from Shakespeare a modern twist. The same happened with The Great Gatsby, my favorite book by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Although I must admit I was disappointed that the very first sentence was different from how it is in the book (I know this book inside out – as I said: favorite). But that does not take away from how he presented the story; you want to be part of what you see on screen. Gatsby's parties, you spontaneously get FOMO from them.

Do you all remember the Chanel commercial with Gisele and our own Michiel Huisman? All also from the hand of Baz. Nicole Kidman running over the rooftops of houses in Paris? Baz Luhrmann. The Netflix hit The Get Down? You can feel it coming, right? Also Baz.
And his latest gem is the commercial for H&M x Erdem. A masterpiece with a tiny role for the beautiful Imaan Hammam. The location is a dream, the models are all stunning, and the collection is too. And I immediately searched for the music on Spotify and it has been on repeat all week. Baz, you did it again. Hats off.
