Last-minute Halloween

Without shopping

Last-minute to a Halloween party, but forgot to dive into the costume store? Voilà, two makeup tutorials that allow you to make an appearance without shopping.

Vavavoom vampire

Think Buffy, The Vampire Diaries or Twilight and become a vampire. How? Very simple.
1. Grab your lightest matte highlight powder and make your face look pale. It really looks like you are a newbie vampire.

2. Create a beautiful smokey eye, don't be careful, it's Halloween so a little exaggeration is allowed. For an extra beautiful vampire smokey eye, you can also blend in some red eyeshadow.

3. Now it's time for the precise work and steady hand. Take a very fine brush with a point or a super sharp eyeliner. Dip this in red (use some face paint or lipstick for this), make thin vertical lines under your eyes and branch them zigzagging to your cheekbones.

4. Next step: the neck, where you make two bloody bite marks. How nice. Take a round brush and apply red lipstick there as well, make a small circle and blend the edges well. Then go over it with a smaller brush with black eyeshadow. Draw another one next to it for the second wound, at vampire tooth distance. For a special effect, borrow some fake blood from your friend who did shop and apply it to the drawn ‘bites’.

5. Color your lips bright red and let a drop of blood drip from the corner of your mouth for the finishing touch.

6. What you wear is up to you, but a little tip: vampires love black.

Say Little Red Riding Hood

That little girl who went to bring cookies to grandma is all grown up now and a bit creepy. Just watch:

1. Start with your usual makeup, apply some foundation, mascara, eyeshadow, the whole shebang. When you get to the blush, go all out for the red apple cheeks.

2. Draw four scratches on your cheeks with eyeshadow, eyeliner, or pencil. The big bad wolf apparently got you.

3. Grab some lipstick and apply it around and in the scratches. If you happen to have some face paint, you can go wild with fake blood here too.

4. Search your acquaintances for a red hood, as that is essential. There are also brilliant guides online on how to fold a piece of clothing into a headpiece. Just sayin’.

Nothing planned yet, but suddenly in the mood for a scary party tonight? This is the Halloween spectacle for a spooktacular evening (ha).
