The Hermès carré

With King's Day and May 4th and 5th, we received a delightful dose of royal glamour. That's why today I'm rolling out the red carpet for an accessory of royal allure: the Hermès scarf.

What is it?

A scarf, although you shouldn't really call it that. We call it a carré. A square piece measuring exactly 90 by 90 centimeters and made of the finest silk. The first one saw the light in 1937 and the house still releases a new collection of twelve designs twice a year.

Who wears it?

Everyone who has a few euros to spare and aspires to a chic presence. Elizabeth Taylor, the princess, but also our own Peggy Weijergang is a fan of these expensive pieces. Just here take a look in her closet.

Indeed, we want to know. How much does it cost?

350 resounding euros. But then you really have something. It retains its value and you can use it in so many ways.

How so?

Around your neck, on your head, as a belt, or, what is currently particularly trendy, tightly tied around the handles of your bag. Preferably one of the same brand. There is even a Hermès app with tips.

And, oh yes!

Did you know that when something is not quite right from the makers, the carrés are destroyed? Never, never will an inferior piece appear on the market.
