Proven: these are the scariest movies of all time

Do you still remember the piece about the movie It and why you want to see it? In short: good for your love life. You can all read it back. here Something with an increased heart rate and serotonin hormone production that makes you want to get busy more often. Well, if you're ready for some change in your sex life (read: more sex), I would definitely recommend watching everything on the list below. There has been research to see which scary movies are really the scariest.

The British media center Insurance2go conducted research and came up with the following:

At number one, you find the Stephen King classic The Shining, starring Jack Nicholson. The book was brought to life by director Stanley Kubrick in 1980 and now, over thirty-seven years later, it is still known as the scariest movie ever. This was also the conclusion of a study a few years back by the company Play.com. They worked with a heart rate monitor to see what the effect of the movie was on people. Well, those heart rates went up significantly.

The rest of the top ten looks as follows:

2. Psycho (1960)
3. Paranormal Activity (2007)
4. The Exorcist (1973)
5. Poltergeist (1982)
6. All Alien film series (the first one came out in 1979)
7. 23 Days Later (series that started in 2002)
8. The Evil Dead (2013)
9. What Lies Beneath (2000)
10. The Omen (1976)

Funny to see that the list mostly contains older films while you would think that with current technology there would be more recent ones in it. It turns out we can't quite replicate the ‘charm’ of the horror from the past...

Anyway, it's the weekend. I would say: time for a horror marathon.
