Sleeping in the most beautiful hotel in Milan
More than 12 hours later than planned Lil and I arrived at our temporary humble abode in Milan, and I can tell you: once we were there, we almost forgot all about the delay. And okay, they might have spelled my last name a little wrong and were expecting a man (Mr. Wynards to be exact), but hey, I understand that my last name is a bit complicated for Italians. And not just for Italians, by the way, because at Starbucks in the Netherlands, I suddenly became Eline instead of Elke. Well, then just a day as Mr. Eline Wynards, sounds kind of funny, right?
Anyways, our palace for Milan Fashion Week was the Diana Majestic of the Sheraton, right in the heart of downtown Milan. The most ideal place you could wish for four days of soaking up fashion, because our room had a lovely walk-in closet that quickly filled up with all the outfits we had neatly selected in advance. Among other things, you could also find Lilian's pink suit , which was a huge hit when we were at Gucci.
And the bathrooms at the Diana Majestic are also not bad at all. My tiny bathroom here in Amsterdam could fit in there about four times, if not more. Sigh. A little balcony with morning sun, and also beds of a large size that I always love in hotels. This was a top home base after all the hustle and bustle of the fashion circus. The hotel also has a huge garden, coincidentally one of May's favorite spots where she likes to sit with her laptop to type pieces. Read here By the way, those tips from May, in case you're going to Milan for the first time.
Fun fact by the way: when Lil and I were waiting for a taxi to Gucci, the man at the hotel reception told us that Ferragamo used to have a headquarters in the building and Prada too, on the fourth floor – coincidentally where Lil and I had a room. So you understand: all of this made it even more Fashion Week-worthy.
Around the corner from the hotel, we also found a place with the best coffee (and the fact that it was also very photogenic was an added bonus), the restaurant where Chiara Ferragni celebrated her dirty thirty, we were within walking distance of Via Montenapoleone… Coincidentally, I'm going back there in November with my best friend. The plane tickets are already booked. Now just the accommodations, but it seems clear where we plan to book something...
