Sodemiauw: these are the most beautiful pedigree cats
(part 2)
Last week I wrote this article about a number of purrfect cats, I didn't know that some of you cat kids felt totally excluded. So it's time for a new cat parade. This one is for Benji, Noxy, Kenzy, Knorretje, and Loeloe. Because of course, you handsome devils belong on the list too.
Pers
Oh my goodness, I'm stopping work for a moment and only looking at Google photos of baby Persians. Pers kittens? Whatever. What little CUTIES. A daily grooming session is definitely needed for these creatures, as they have fur for ten. A Persian is a calm cat that prefers to retreat a bit. Besides their care, they need a lot of attention. If you're looking for a calm indoor cat, this is your gurlll.
How much does that cost? Between 650 and 1000 euros.
Norwegian Forest Cat
In the category of old breeds: this fluffball originated more than 500 years ago. The Norwegian Forest Cat has a great character and is known for their way of climbing a tree, with their head down. This little creature usually bonds with one particular person, whom they will follow through thick and thin. Oh, and my ‘Pukkie’ (yes, the cat I grew up with who lived to be 21!) loved jumping in the snow.
How much does that cost? Between 750 and 950 euros.
Russian Blue
Do you know that cat food commercial with Eva Longoria? Right, that handsome creature is a Russian Blue. It looks a bit like the British Shorthair, but has a slightly less full head and a beautiful gray-blue, short coat. The Russian Blue is a reserved cat that doesn't like noise. They are also very intelligent and remain playful into old age.
How much does that cost? Between 750 and 850 euros.
Bombay
If you're religious, you strategically avoid them, but for the atheists among us, I say: get a Bombay at home. Something about: I melt and a super sweet black cat with bright yellow eyes (kittens are blue). The Bombay is generally quite extroverted and enjoys a good Netflix/ drool / paw milk session on the couch.
How much does that cost? Between 600 and 800 euros.
Chartreux
Just sounds mega French and hip and hot. The Chartreux, also known as the Carthusian, is one of the oldest cat breeds among European pedigree cats. And just so you know: due to World War II, the breed was nearly extinct. Only a handful of cats that somewhat met the standard survived the war. This sweetie gets along well with other pets and children. They have a cute, soft meow.
How much does that cost? Between 800 and 850 euros.
Ashera
Then let's conclude with the most expensive cat on earth? Officially banned as a pet in the Netherlands, by the way, but still interesting to mention. The Ashera, then. A cross between a domestic cat, an African Serval, and a Bengal tiger cat. This sounds almost scary, but the unique creature is difficult for breeders to ‘breed’. And you can see that reflected in the price.
How much does that cost? You don't want to know. Okay, you do. 70,000 euros. That's cat pee, right?
