The 5 secrets of May's make-up artist
If May has something really, really, really très important on the agenda, then there is Carmen. With a few brush strokes, she adds exactly the right glow, shadow, or accent to your face. Carmen Zomers is the make-up artist of faces you didn't know about, but also the author of the book ‘Boho Beauty by Carmen‘. “I wanted a book with simple tutorials so that everyone can create the looks. And with beautiful atmospheric images, everything is shot at Ibiza,” says Carmen. “These are my five tips for you and my favorite products.”
1. A tight skin without botox
Always massage a good day cream in before applying foundation; this is good for circulation and reduces fine lines. And you can apply the foundation thinly and very naturally.
Day cream: Yves Rocher or Marie-Stella-Maris
Foundation: Ellis Faas
2. The perfect look for a festival
Wet your eyeshadow brush with water. It stays on better, it doesn't crumble under your eye, and the pigment is stronger.
Eyeshadow: Charlotte Tilbury
3. The easy braid
Divide your hair into two strands and take a small section from the left and bring it to the right strand and vice versa. Do this until you have a nice fishtail braid. Gently pull the braid to loosen it a bit; this makes the braid fuller.
Salt spray: Kevin Murphy
4. The trick for perfect eyebrows
Actually, this is simple. Spray some hairspray on a brow brush and comb the hairs into shape. It stays on all day.
Brow pencil: Bobbi Brown
Hairspray: Kevin Murph
5. Just-out-of-bed hair
Before you go to sleep, twist a bun in your damp hair and good night. If it's not dry in the morning, use a hairdryer on it for a bit. Undo the bun and massage some volumizing powder at the roots of your hair. Use an out-of-bed spray for the ends. Add some curls and you're done.
