Hopeless romantic that I am, I actually have very little to do with all those proposal videos that you come across on YouTube. Maybe because I myself, should that day ever really come, would prefer to keep it as private as possible. But when I hear about grandiose things from the rich and the famous in La La Land, I want to know everything. Take Kanye West for example. Perhaps he’s a bit cuckoo at times, romantic, he certainly is.

Unpacking, they are mega good at that, over there in Hollywood. From igloos on glaciers to racetracks: this is how it’s done…

Robbie Williams & Ayda Field

I always compared Robbie a bit to George Clooney. That type that the whole world is in love with but you think will just remain the eternal bachelor for the rest of their life. But no, both men are now hubbies and that Ayda of Robbie, she’s one lucky lady. Mr. went down on one knee in a very nice way. He took all the women from a deck of cards and gave them to Ayda. When she turned them over, each card had one word on it and together it said: ‘Will You Marry Me.’ Robbie believes in mysticism and said that every time he split a deck of cards in two, the queen of hearts always ended up on top. That’s why he found it very fitting to incorporate that into his proposal.

P!nk & Carey Hart

The ultimate tomboy is of course singer P!nk, so it wasn’t surprising when she proposed to her man instead of the other way around. How did she do that? While her motocross boy was riding laps on a racetrack, she held up a big sign that said: ‘Will You Marry Me?’ When he kept riding, she flipped the sign over with on the back: ‘I’m Serious’. And yes, he immediately stopped to run towards her and say yes. A triple dose of hearts.

Heidi Klum & Seal

I know, they’ve been apart for ages, but just a little bit about that proposal from Seal. It happened almost 4,500 meters high on a glacier. They flew there by helicopter, where an igloo had been made for the two of them with a bed covered in pink petals, lots of food, and of course enough champagne. I don’t know if Heidi’s current boyfriend ever hopes to marry her, but wow, he’s got some big shoes to fill.

Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes

Even stars do cliché proposals. Tom Cruise is a perfect example of this. After two months, he proposed to his then-girlfriend in Le Jules Verne, the restaurant in the Eiffel Tower. Now my love for Paris is immense, but future hubby of mine: I don’t want this.
