THIS IS HOW YOU GET A HEALTHY DESK
Why wait until January 1st when you can already start making goede voornemens? More exercise, healthier eating, visiting your parents more often (are you still there?), taking the bike more often, spending less time on social media, diving into books more, sleeping longer, showering shorter and keep going like this.
All things we want to work on. And there’s still a lot that can be different in the workplace. Because a good work environment, friends, starts with a tidy desk. Or: a healthy desk. Could your desk use a cleaning session? Then make sure these six things remain part of your workspace.
1. Plant
Do you ever suffer from dry hands, dry or irritated eyes, headaches, or drowsiness at your desk? That could be due to the dry air in the room. A plant on your desk could be the solution for this. Plants filter the air, increase humidity, and can also raise the oxygen level in the air.
2. Water
Research from the University of East London proves that drinking water, besides all the known benefits, also has a positive effect on your reaction speed. After just one glass of water, your reaction speed increases by up to fourteen percent, and your cognitive performance improves as well. This effect is greatest when you are very thirsty.
3. Stackable letter trays
By organizing in special letter trays, you can prioritize your work and separate your administration. This way, your desk stays clean and you can easily find your paperwork.
4. Post-its
Standard on my desk. Post-its, preferably in all different cheerful colors. Believe me, all those thoughts in your head are not all stored.
5. A healthy snack
All very tasty, those packs of cookies from that colleague with size 34, but you want to get through your day healthily. So always make sure you have a healthy bar or a piece of fruit on your table.
6. A pack of cleaning wipes
To quickly wipe over your desk before you go home.
