Traveling like a lazy branch...
This is how you survive that flight with a hangover
Do you also belong to the ‘okeee, just one more drink then...’ group? That turned into five, right? Then you must have experienced a mega hangover on the plane at some point. And if Ms. the expert on experiences doesn't wish you anything, it's that situation. That's why it's time for a Save The First Day Of My Vacation Survival Guide.
Now stands a hangover is definitely already in my top three of the most annoying things about the human body, but when you have to board the PLANE with that wine migraine, dry mouth, and spaghetti legs, then you're really fucked. And since all those ‘own fault, tough luck’ people are just super annoying, I'm going to help you through this terror flight. You can do this.
1. Grab that survival kit
Aspirin, moist facial wipes, sleep mask, vitamin shake, cucumber to keep your hydration levels up, massage pillow: Pack. It. In. Also nice in case you don't have excess baggage: bring your own pillow into the plane. You can at least lie down comfortably, CHILL!
2. Caffeine is your new best friend
Drink coffee, cola, or energy drink. It doesn't matter what, as long as it contains caffeine. After a few cups or glasses, you'll definitely feel better. Caffeine also helps reduce your headache.
3. Start the morning sexy
Maybe your hungover head isn't up for it, but having sex during a hangover works. The endorphins released during sexual arousal push away the dull feeling that a hangover gives you. So first rumpy pumpy, then pack your suitcase and head out the door. Bet you'll feel less hungover on that plane?
4. For the real diehards: just keep drinking
I've done it before. Got on the plane hungover and immediately ordered another glass of wine. And lo and behold, it actually seemed to help. Where is that party?
5. Just a little more about point 4...
By the way, definitely not recommended on a long flight. Drinking water, on the other hand, is always a good plan, but do pay attention to the amount if you're really feeling nauseous. Then a cola might be a better pick-me-up.
6. Stay positive
Think about all the other times you were super hungover. Maybe you went to work or to an important appointment then. You survived that too, right? You can handle this flight. Yes, really. Grab it by the horns. And remember, it's just about passing the time and then landing in a stunning location. Secretly, it's not that tough for you...
P.S.: Tomorrow morning I'm actually getting on the plane to the Italian ski area Val di Fassa. Anyone want to grab a drink (or five) tonight? Call me!
