Wat te doen dit weekend
by Theo Bakana
Last weekend we stayed home, at least I didn't brave the cold like Jon Snow. As promised, this weekend we're hitting the trails and the lanes again. Unfortunately, the mercury won't rise much more than last week, but the wind has given itself a little vacation (which I completely understand, probably to the sun). With a thick coat, a pair of mittens, and a good hat, you can just go outside. Are you ready for it? Oh yes, under the guise of dry January, we're also keeping it mostly alcohol-free. Even though opinions vary quite a bit about how my alcohol-free month is going (Any?). I've seen the light.
Yes, because since you probably won't stay until the lights come on during this alcohol-free month, you'll have to look for the light elsewhere. Don't be afraid; there won't be a sermon here à la the Jehovah's, it's much simpler than that. Take your love by the arm, go to Amsterdam, and stroll along the Herengracht. This weekend is actually the last weekend you can admire the artworks of
the Amsterdam Light Festival . If those good intentions aren't going as planned and you're thinking: I'll let that pass me by for now, you can also join the boat tour. Sounds quaint, it might be, but I’m all up for it.. A bunch, a bunch.
Since we've taken the quaint path, the next weekend activity cannot be missed. You also need to sit down for this, because you probably weren't fully aware of it. But tomorrow, on January 21, it's National Tulip Day, hooray and a drum and a flute. And no, don't start stressing and panicking if you haven't been able to plan anything for this yet, because you can actually pick a free tulip from one of the 200,000 that can be found in a temporary garden on the Dam.
Sticky fingers.
You've probably seen this hotspot pop up on Instagram multiple times:
On Sunday, you can also continue with the aforementioned treats to the Modefabriek. Here you'll find the latest collections and a ton of inspiration. This is actually only for fashion professionals, but if you love fashion professionally, you can probably snag a ticket.
Wicked Whiskey.
If, like Rens, you don't care and have a love for whiskey, then you know where to toast this weekend. Namely at the
Whiskey Weekend dry January . I'm skipping it, but with Renske, you can definitely raise a glass here. Have fun this weekend, next week is already the last weekend of January, so we can start warming up for alcohol-rich days. Yes, you can hear the enthusiasm in my voice, sort of, you get what I mean. If you have tips: theo@amayzine.com.. Auf wiederschnitzel!.
