WHY STATUS MAKES MEN MORE ATTRACTIVE
Ah shame, I really shouldn't say something like that because it’s all about the inner self and so on, but well, CEO sounds just a bit hotter than shelf stacker at the local supermarket (sorry). Just like Amber Heard has fallen hard for the CEO of Tesla (Elon Musk), last weekend Miranda said ‘I do‘ to the founder of Snapchat (Evan Spiegel) and Salma Hayek has been happily married to her billionaire husband François-Henri Pinault for years. There’s just something about those career-minded men that drives us women wild.
Of course, there are always the gold diggers, but I think with the ladies mentioned above, they already have a pretty nice bank account themselves and don’t really need those extra bucks from their partners. I think it’s more about, please correct me if I’m wrong, the fact that they are men with a stable lifestyle. A man you can rely on. Someone who – hopefully – has his life in order, and okay, maybe sometimes a tad too arrogant, but we secretly like that too. And this is all true as well. And yes, again sorry, but there are studies showing that women on dating sites tend to go for men with pictures of themselves, expensive cars, and apartments because they just look richer.
So back to that status, because no matter how superficial you might find it, these are the reasons why we still pay attention to it:
– Enjoying a night out for dinner is difficult when you know he doesn’t have much money to spend and also refuses to split the bill.
– A man with a good job probably has his own crib and doesn’t still live with his buddies in a bachelor pad. So awkward when you have to get out of his bed in the morning and have breakfast with him and his four other housemates. Or worse: with his parents.
– He is happier. He can do things he enjoys because he has his finances in order and isn’t constantly stressing about whether he can make ends meet. He happy, you happy.
– Status and money are always linked to self-confidence, and having self-confidence is hot.
– Wanting children? Well, it’s nice to know that you are both financially stable to give your future offspring a good life.
