Soon there will be new emojis and yes, a PEACOCK is coming

Every day we send about 41.5 billion messages worldwide via the app, plus 6 billion emojis. Smiling faces, colorful hearts, and screaming ghosts: everybody loves them. Because what is a message nowadays without an emoji after your last word? Are you angry or something?

Now Apple has good news for the playful winkers among us: a whole bunch of new emojis is coming. And quickly too. Later this year, the new emojis will be added to iOS 12. Note: from that moment on, for example, you can give all heads red or gray hair or send a mango to your girlfriends.

But the best, best, BEST news is: THE PEACOCK. There will be a real, beautiful, grand, immense PEACOCK emoji. With an exaggerated tail and all. Believe us, this will be your new favorite. And besides the peacock, there will also be a lobster. Finally. Because that curled shrimp alone is really not enough.

By the way, it is also known which emoji is used the most worldwide. Not entirely a surprise: it is the crying laughing emoji. In second place is the face with heart eyes, third is the face blowing a kiss, and, quite unexpectedly: fourth is the birthday cake. And even more unexpectedly: in the Netherlands, the party popper that throws confetti into the air is the most used. Boring. Just give us that peacock quickly.
