London Fashion Week
The highlights so far
Rihanna's heavily pregnant bestie on the catwalk, the Tom Ford show, and of course the feud between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj: we were front row. Meanwhile, New York and London Fashion Week have flown by and today Milan Fashion Week is rolling out its runway for brands like Prada, Gucci, Moschino, Max Mara, Sport Max, Fendi, and Versace. But first, the highlights from London Fashion Week, which all have to do with Victoria Beckham's hometown, coupe à la the Trolls, and the JW Anderson show. Here it comes:
Bye bye fur
London Fashion Week is completely fur-free this season for the very first time. There is not a single
form of fur (with the exception of shearling, sheep wool) to be seen. In this way, the British Fashion Council wants to encourage designers to design sustainably and think extra carefully about the materials they use in their collections. New York, Milan, Paris, are you following along?
JW Anderson
A mix of bohemian and bourgeoisie where the pierced bag has landed on rubbery hats this season and ruffles are still a favorite.
The Trolls
The Trolls-inspired beauty look of Ashley Williams where hairstyles go super sky high.
V is back in town
For ten years, Victoria Beckham showcased her collection during New York Fashion Week, until now... For the first time, the models walked her runway during the fashion week of her hometown London. The show was opened by 47-year-old Stella Tennant, who walked down the stairs in the must-have of the collection.
Riccardo Tisci
After twelve years at Givenchy, Italian designer Riccardo Tisci presents his first collection for Burberry. It opened with the iconic trench coat cinched at the waist and a variant with a silk scarf, lots of animal prints with the statement tee ‘Why did they kill Bambi’ and last but certainly not least: the comeback of Kendall Jenner. Riccardo, we are fans of yours!
Vivienne Westwood
Vivienne Westwood opted for a gender-neutral collection with the message ‘Buy less, dress up’.
