Nice and quick: we prefer to switch jobs every two years
Being bored is a bit hip. Are you enjoying your job? Then you're a bit cuckoo. Because who says that?
Complaining is the trend, whining is modern, and sulking about your job is daily fare. Not enough salary, not enough challenge, no fun colleagues, or no growth opportunities; there's always something. And that's why we switch jobs more than ever before. No less than 43 percent of people want to look for a new job after working somewhere for two years. We no longer feel like spending years at the same desk .
Even worse: only 28 percent of people hope to still be working at the same company in five years. We all want to leave, move on, and earn our money somewhere else. While, believe us, the grass is not always greener on the other side. Because, you'll see, once you finally have that dream salary where you can score that Chanel, you can't stand your boss. Once you finally have the chance to grow, promotion after promotion passes you by. You have high expectations and then it all falls a bit short in daily life. You get into a rut, your days drag on, that Monday is hell... And yes, after two years, you've really had enough and start looking for something new.
We say: stick around. You actually grow in a company when you work somewhere longer than a day. You enjoy more benefits the longer you're settled somewhere. You feel more at home. It gets more fun, you get to do more and more. So come on, don't let it get to you and just hang in there. Work your ass off. Brave that workweek. Smile from nine to five. It's a shame to throw away those nice shoes when you can't know if those new boots are more comfortable.
