These are the first images of the new ’The Crown’ Queen.

Yes, the first images of the new ‘The Crown’ season are in. And these are not just images of a funny backstage snapshot of the crew or a nice location shot, no, we are talking about the first images of the Queen. May we introduce you to Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II? And for those who missed the whole ‘the new Queen’ story: a new Queen is far from the only innovation in season 3 of the series. Thus, the entire cast is being replaced due to a significant time jump being made.

Olivia Colman replaces Claire Foy and will play the role in both the third and fourth seasons. The premiere of season 3 is expected in mid-2019, so unfortunately we still have to be patient for a while. What can we expect? A time period between 1964 and the early 1970s, with Olivia's co-star Tobias Menzies (you know, among others Frank in Outlander and Edmure Tully in Game of Thrones), playing Prince Philip. Who else will be joining? Helena Bonham Carter, who will play Princess Margaret, and Ben Daniels, who will be her husband Antony Armstrong-Jones. So 2019... We still have to wait a bit, but as long as Netflix keeps teasing us with images of the new cast, you won't hear me complain. What about you?
