You are seriously addicted to Netflix
6 proofs
You could read a book. Or the newspaper. It would, you know, it would. Or unload the dishwasher so you have a little less stress tomorrow. You could also open that stack of envelopes. But you have something better to do. NETFLIX junkies pay attention. If you answer this list with ‘yes’, I'll see you next Monday at Netflix Anonymous
1. When you wake up, you actually want to dive into your series.
What do you mean ‘it can't be done’ or ‘it's not appropriate’. Is there a TV watching etiquette? Don't you sometimes watch TV in the evening? Well then. That bourgeois nonsense too. Who decides when you watch TV? You are a free spirit. And besides; in South Korea, it's already TV watching time.
2. Everyone is your character
The characters from your series become fictional friends in the real world. A friend of mine saw the cast of Downton Abbey around her during childbirth. This morning I saw both Martin Sheen (Robert from Grace and Frankie) in my husband, and when he took a sip of my carrot juice that had a lot of ginger in it, I suddenly found him incredibly Sol. So Sol from Grace and Frankie. Peggy is Frankie. And also Grace. Those kinds of things take over you.
3. Netflix keeps asking if it's true that you're still watching
Yes, of course it's true. I'm addicted, you know. Can I postpone that question? I feel incredibly guilty about it.
4. You cut off phone conversations
Anyone who has heard me say lately that the connection was bad and I really had to hang up... it was a lie. A big distraction maneuver to return to my friends as quickly as possible.
5. You should actually be doing this
My beloved makes Jinek. And Eva is a dear friend. So you could reasonably assume that I watch her program when I wake up at 11:00 PM. But secretly, I'm watching Grace and Frankie. To reduce my guilt a little, I dutifully set the other TV to NPO1.
6. You time your series
Do you remember? That you're reading a book that you find so incredibly good that you don't want it to stop. I sometimes put myself on a reading diet so that the book stays with me as long as possible. That's what I'm doing now with Grace and Frankie. Watch less. Spread it out. Then start over and hope that Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are currently filming season 5.
