But wait: Season 4 of Jane The Virgin is coming to Netflix

The downside of following American series is that you often have to wait every week (sometimes even longer) before you can watch a new episode again. The advantage of Netflix is that they often just release the entire season all at once. My preference clearly goes to the second. You can set your own pace, which usually means that I binge through a season at a record pace. And starting in April, I will probably do the same with Jane Gloriana Villanueva. Yes, season 4 of Jane The Virgin will be fully available on Netflix starting in April.

It's a bit bittersweet, because this is the beginning of the end. Season 5 is about to start in America soon, and that will be the last season of this series. Crying. So extra enjoy these last seasons. I have managed to avoid any spoilers for season 4 (since it has already aired in the US), and I will keep that up until April. Fortunately, in the meantime, there are about a dozen other series on Netflix that I still need to watch, so that works out well.

That means I'm still fully immersed in the wedding of Xo and Rogelio, which is full of twists, like unexpected babies. And of course Rafael, whom I hoped Jane would end up with. The end of season 3 threw a bit of a wrench in the works, as it ended with Jane facing her ex-fiancé Adam. Drama all around in season 4, it seems to me, for no less than 17 episodes.

If you want a sneak peek, check out the trailer below. A slightly too short trailer if you ask me, but it at least has a shot of Rafael in the shower and a Jane admitting that she is not over Rafael (‘100% is also a big number’). I'm also very curious about how things will go with Xo and Rogelio and the unplanned (but welcome? I'm not so sure) baby.

Okay, one small piece of bad news then: the exact date on which season 4 will be available on Netflix is not yet known. So if you set yourself up at your laptop on April 1, you might come home from a cold fair or have fallen for your own April Fool's joke. You have been warned.

And yes, if you have already seen everything from season 4 on the world wide web, you can also rejoice: season 5 will also start in April in America. But please keep the spoilers to yourself.
