On June 9, Lil’ Kleine and Jaimie Vaes welcomed their son Lío Zion. Now, five months later, Jaimie talks for the first time about the early months and how she learned to be a mother. We can reveal: that didn't happen by the Amsterdam canals and over a cup of coffee on the Cornelis Schuyt.

Jorik and Jaimie maintain a traditional division, which means that the care for Lío mainly lies with Jaimie. It was something she had to get used to herself. “Actually, I only started feeling like: now I get it,” she tells Glamour. In the beginning, it was tough for her because she couldn't enjoy it as much as she thought she should. Jaimie became overtired, developed a breast infection on top of that, and decided to pack her bags to figure out how being a mother really worked at her own pace. The second house in Ibiza was an ideal refuge. Why Ibiza? Jaimie is clear about that: “Because as a mother... You don't want to fail. And for us, it's just the case that when we went for lunch in the Cornelis Schuytstraat, the whole world was watching me with such eyes as I gave a bottle. I found that difficult. I thought: let me figure it out there in the sun, that's more relaxing for everyone.”

Meanwhile, it's important for Jaimie not to forget that she is also a woman besides being a mother. She doesn't want to get too stuck in the mother role, she says, and Jorik does enough to ensure that the spark remains. So we don't have to worry about Jorik and Jaimie.
