Monique reacts to André's new relationship with a dramatic photo

It keeps the country busy and it keeps me busy too. But what I see again on Instagram, I really can't accept.

Monique posts a photo showing her son André giving the middle finger. She adds the caption: ‘Positive Energy’. Look, I understand that her sadness must be great at this moment, that her life is turned upside down and that it’s certainly not nice that half of the Netherlands can read along with all the intrigues surrounding André, Monique, and Bridget. But Monique, using your own child for such a photo, with such a pose, at this moment? You shouldn't want that.

You need to rise above this and I believe you can. That you are worth more than an ordinary fight on social media. That you shouldn't let yourself be known, that you should keep this private, this great heartbreak. In the end, we all find it unfortunate and we certainly don’t like it for you. You and André were a golden duo, a couple that the whole country adored. You are and will always be the mother of his child, his first true love.

And as a mother, I feel that a photo like that of your son goes too far. He is your son, he will always stand between you, belong to both of you, love both of you. Don’t let him make a statement at such a young age. You don’t need to make a statement. That has already been made, by André. What you can do is stay strong, for little Dré, and be a mother who doesn’t speak badly about his father. Because children remember everything, no matter how young. Be careful with that. And take good care of yourself. Because you deserve more than this.
