Netflix makes the Fyre Festival just a little bit worse

Ah, Fyre Festival. So sad for those involved, of course, but I really enjoyed it when this failed festival unfolded. Or rather, when it especially did NOT unfold. It was supposed to be a gi-gantic party over two weekends, but that second weekend never happened and that party never took place. What a joke. Can you imagine being all hyped to go to, for example, Lowlands , you arrive (after spending a lot of money), and there’s nothing. Except for balls of chemical cheese. We could all see it in the documentary made about Fyre Festival that appeared on Netflix. The horror. Well, that horror is now getting even a bit spicier. Netflix is coming out with a horror miniseries a la the Fyre Festival.
I-Land will also have some resemblance to The Hunger Games; on this island, surviving means you have to finish off the rest. Well, horror remains a bloody genre, of course. And where we heard everything about Fyre Festival afterwards, everything at I-Land is monitored via cameras. Just like The Hunger Games, indeed. Grim. Can't wait.
And then the trailer. I-Land is presented as a tropical paradise, happy people jumping off a too-luxurious boat, hard EDM music, going wild, the whole shebang. But then reality comes around the corner and it becomes, as I said: grim. And leaving the island is not one of the options. Oh guys, this is going to be a really nice (not good for your sleep) binge-worthy Netflix hit. I predict it.
Check out the trailer below. I-Land will go online on September 12, so that wait is also very manageable. The founder of Fyre Festival is still behind bars, but I bet he can appreciate this series a bit less. After all, he thought he had organized the coolest festival ever. In that respect, I am a bit of a disaster tourist, because when it seemed for a moment that the Netherlands was getting its own Fyre Festival, I was quick to read the ins and outs. Unfortunately (not unfortunately for the people going), that turned out fine. But luckily for us, Netflix is just coming out with a Fyre 2.0. Again: Can't. Wait.
