While all of the Netherlands, excuse me — the whole planet, was busy with the remake of The Lion King, and we all went to see it in theaters, I was busy with something completely different. Because hello, can we also focus on the Lady and the Tramp remake that was also coming up? That one got completely overshadowed. And now it hasn't even received a release in theaters. How cruel. But okay, let's stay positive: we can now watch it on Disney+. And really, it is the cutest.

And that Disney+ is definitely quite a thing. You could take afree trial month until November 12, because that was the date the big launch would happen. Yesterday, and I guess that caused quite a bit of stress at that Disney office. The site crashed. Too many visits, some teething problems; they just couldn't handle it all, I believe. But good, today is a new day and did I already mention that on this day Lady and the Tramp was released online? Yes sorry, I am really very happy about this.

It's definitely clever (and handy) that they let that free month run exactly until this hit went online. The offering was a bit different until November 12. No High School Musical (yes, you got it right: that's online now too), no Wizards of Waverly Place, too little Disney… Hmm, maybe I should think about a paid subscription? I was already convinced.

But yes, Lady and the Tramp then. As a big Disney fan, I also have some fun extra facts for you. The first shot in the film, by the way, is not just any street: that's Main Street USA in Disneyland Paris. The little cars and boats you see there also got a role in the film. But the best part is the dogs, they are actually shelter dogs. The dog that plays Tramp is one of those shelter dogs and has suddenly become world-famous.
