The Handmaid’s Tale movie is NOW on Videoland and that is fantastic news

Any plans for tonight? Yes? Cancel them. Better for everyone, especially for yourself. Okay, maybe a petit peu subjective, because here speaks a grandiose The Handmaid’s Tale fan. Every now and then, there are those series that come along and you think: whoah, I’m staying home for this. This is what they call a good story. I felt that with Prison Break. Many people felt that with Breaking Bad. I hadn’t felt that in a while, but since the arrival of Offred, I have a new spirit animal.
The story of the handmaid is of course much older – all credit to writer Margaret Atwood – but it’s funny that not so many people know that her book was already adapted into a film in 1990, with actresses Natasha Richardson and Faye Dunaway in the lead roles. Say whuut. And that original version of the whole Gilead story is now available to check out on Videoland. It’s of course a pretty difficult story to summarize in just two hours, but hey, that doesn’t stop the diehard fans. Sports tonight? Oh no, unfortunately I can’t. I have a date. With Mr. Bank and Ms. Pillow. Sorry, darling.
