Yes, finally: The first images of the Penoza movie are here

Oh Carmen, lovely queen of the underworld that you are. Finally, she's back, you know. Not that we've had it very bad in terms of crime series, because Mocro Mafia and Undercover there were absolutely good substitutes in the meantime, but Carmen remains a bit of The OG when it comes to drug lords, criminals, and extortions. The last season of Penoza ended with a cliffhanger, as it was still not entirely certain whether Carmen was alive or not.
Spoiler: of course she was. Very much alive. Just not in the Netherlands anymore, as we could see in the very first teaser. Carmen has traveled to Canada and works there as... a waitress. Yes, I didn't really see that coming. She also got a short haircut, which looks really good on her. In the teaser, we first see her happily serving tables, but that quickly turns around, of course.
The story goes like this: a colleague of Carmen is being harassed. And yes, Carmen certainly won't take that. Something with blood where it can't crawl? Well, one thing leads to another, it gets out of hand, and Carmen accidentally kills the man who is harassing her colleague. Self-defense, apparently. However, it is not entirely appreciated, and Carmen gets booted out of Canada, back to the Netherlands.
If you then expect that the kids will welcome her with open arms, think again. Because those kids were not even aware that Carmen was still alive. She must have thought it was for their own good, but... Quite a tough move from you, Carmen. A big shock all around for them, of course, when they come face to face with a very much alive mom. I'm curious how they will react to that. I myself would be pretty pissed off, but hey, my mother is not a top criminal either, so I can't really make a fair comparison.
Once back in the Netherlands, there are – surprise – quite a few people who would rather see Carmen six feet under, so I expect a lot of extortions, shootouts, clumsy actions from Boris, probably another inappropriate relationship from Natalie (I thought she and Storm were such a weird couple), and a lot of rebellion from Lucien. But the one I might have missed the most is also back: Luther. In Undercover, he unfortunately didn't make it to the end, here he survives season after season and we see him back in the movie. My favorite bodyguard. Everyone loves Luther.
In the exceptional case that you have no idea who the above people are or even stronger: you have never seen an episode of Penoza watched. First of all, I ask you: how then? Secondly, you can perfectly watch this movie, according to lead actress Monic Hendrickx. The movie will be a standalone story, so probably a whole new perspective full of bad guys.
The movie will premiere on November 28, so if you really haven't been there yet (or haven't even started yet... Again: how then?), you can start binging now. Enjoy.
