Cautiously also some positive news: the spread of the coronavirus seems to be slowing down

Are we there yet? Unfortunately not. But is there a noticeable difference since we all locked ourselves in at home? Absolutely. The spread of the coronavirus in the Netherlands seems to be slowing down, so says director Jaap van Dissel of the RIVM this morning to the House of Representatives. The number of patients needing hospitalization has been decreasing for a few days now. And that always sounds good. According to Van Dissel, the decline is of course the result of the measures announced two weeks ago. ‘The exponential growth has probably been halted. It is sensitive to behavior, but for now there is a positive trend,’ says Van Dissel. We haven't been clapping hard so far (except for healthcare), but if we keep this up together, we might actually get somewhere. Hang in there, people. The more you stay at home, the sooner you can go outside again. Really.
