Coffee brewing chatter: everything you want to know this morning

Coffee brewing chatter: everything you want to know this morning

Morning, morniiiiing. A new week has begun and I must say: yesterday was really the dullest ending of the weekend ever. Alone. But. RAIN. A good excuse not to go out, but I found this all very sad. So what did I do? Well, nice of you to ask. On my schedule was a marathon of Jane The Virgin and aimlessly scrolling through Instagram and other apps. Really a Sunday for the books, but the only bright spot is that I am indeed aware of what’s happening in Hilly and Hollywood. That’s important of course.

PieceTV disqualifies Lil Kleine after broadcast Jachtseizoen
Well, if you ask Lil Kleine to participate in a program, you already know in advance that he will put his own spin on it. This didn’t come as a surprise to the guys from Stuk TV, but Lil Kleine certainly made it quite a spectacle. After escaping via helicopter and boat, only to end up in ‘his’ Amsterdam, he arranged some lifts with friends of his. With just a few minutes left on the clock, the StukTV guys had him in their sights, but not literally. Lil Kleine had locked himself between two cars, which meant they couldn’t really catch him. A bit of a lame way to win, very inventive, but after viewer criticism, it was decided that this wasn’t quite the intention. Unfortunate for Lil Kleine.

Even Tot Hier is the best TV on Saturday night
I already really like Niels van der Laan and Jeroen Woe together, but last Saturday they had Gordon as a guest and that turned out surprisingly well. What Alec Baldwin does for Saturday Night Live, Gordon did for them: a very good imitation of Donald Trump. Ehh, what? Yes, apparently Gordon can do that very well and I didn’t necessarily see that coming. If you missed this episode: watch it back. And also all the other episodes of Even Tot Hier, because it is honestly the best program on Saturday night.

The Masked Singer versus Jim and Jamai
Wow, that has proven to be a ratings hit. In fact, the last time RTL scored this high was in 2003, when the winner of the very first season of Idols was announced. I feel a bit old writing this down, because I was sitting there in full suspense with a Jim poster stuck to the window (of course). But now we have The Masked Singer and it’s also good for 4 (!) million viewers. I wasn’t one of them, so I’m going to quickly rewatch this episode because I only hear enthusiastic reactions. I have seen some clips, and I think I can join all the Dutch people who have become fans of Jan Dulles since this weekend.

Reality star Channah Koerten gives birth on YouTube
As a reality star, you know that you don’t have much privacy, but some things you can keep to yourself. Especially when you make your own reality series and then put it on YouTube, you have quite a bit of control. Still, Channah Koerten decided to share her birth on YouTube and it’s quite intense. It’s a home birth with her boyfriend Quentin and their first little boy present.

The Crown: season 4 finally out
Yesterday I had a marathon of Jane The Virgin, but I guess the vast majority of Netflix users were watching The Crown. Season 4 was finally online and everyone was binge-watching en masse. I’ve started it and it looks incredibly cool again. The characters, the costumes, the whole setting… So well done. By the way, it also came out that the actress playing Princess Di (Emma Corrin) had to visit the hospital during filming: she had gotten hypothermia in a pool in Spain and with her asthma, that wasn’t a pleasant combination. Fortunately, she is doing well now. It seems that things are not going so well between the real royals William and Harry: the episodes of The Crown are said to cause even more tension between them. I should mention that this is according to the British tabloids, who have a tendency to exaggerate or make things up.
