Derek Blasberg for dummies

Where do you start telling how cool Derek Blasberg is and why you should follow him on Instagram now and want to buy his books? Well, I'll just start with a list, and you'll figure it out.

1. He is head of all fashion and beauty partnerships at YouTube. So that's pretty much the most important job of the moment. The American Harper’s Bazaar would undoubtedly have liked him as editor-in-chief to succeed Glenda Bailey, but this job is much more of the now and I bet Derek will earn just a bit more from it.

2. Derek has always been an outlier at higher levels. At school, he was already among the better students and he graduated cum laude in Dramatic Literature and Journalism.

3. He worked for pretty much all the magazines that matter: Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and he also wrote for Style.com for many years.

4. He collects pillows with a witty saying embroidered on them, such as ‘The queen is not accepting an audience today’, which he shared on his Instagram not too long ago.

5. By the way, he has almost a million followers.

6. He wrote two books; ‘Classy, exceptional advice for the extremely modern lady’ and ‘Very classy, even more exceptional advice for the extremely modern lady’.

7. He follows Doutzen, Imaan Hammam, Rianne van Rompaey, and Romee Strijd and oooh nice, Nikkie Tutorials too.

8. He is the host of CNN Style.

9. He is besties with everyone who matters in the modeling world.

10. His dog is allowed to sleep on his bed.
