Do not do this if you want to sleep well tonight

Monday morning I woke up way too early, I could tell right away by the edge of my roller blind where no light was slipping through yet. Normally, I would turn over and sleep until the alarm, but this time I kept turning and sighing and turning and I couldn't manage it. So I got up, and there I was with my coffee before six. Grrrr.
Bad sleeping is not for me. I belong to the kind that easily sleeps eight hours, even when I'm sad or worried; I usually just sink into a comatose state. To the annoyance of my boyfriend, who can't seem to close his eyes at all. But now I've found a way to sleep even better and more dreamlessly and soundly than I already do. I understand that it's very annoying that a good sleeper has found a method to sleep even better, sorry about that.
You have to give something up and you probably won't find it very fun or pleasant, but: skip the alcohol. It may seem like you sleep better with a nightcap (as my grandpa would say), but that's not the case. You do fall asleep faster with a good glass of wine, but that's where it ends. With alcohol, you don't reach that deep, healing, and restorative sleep stage, but instead, you linger in your light sleep, which is why you wake up feeling very groggy. Research even shows that if you sleep the same number of hours as someone who doesn't drink, you wake up less rested.
Right that sobertober but maybe consider it? Apparently, you sleep better from it. Good night!
P.S..: Maybe you sleep here worse because of it.
