Finally, the trailer for The Kissing Booth 2 is out

Well well well Netflix, it was about time, right? The Kissing Booth was really one of my favorite guilty pleasures of the year. The year 2018. In other words, two years ago. I wasn't the only one who became a big fan of this movie, as it was also one of the most watched films of that year. So you would think that the second part would come out pretty quickly. What. A. Disappointment. None of that is true. And lately we can blame the coronavirus for just about everything (for example, the fact that The Handmaid’s Tale has been delayed, which I'm still angry about), but this is even from before that. The Kissing Booth 2 could have easily been finished pre-corona. It could have been completed.

So I don't really think there's a good excuse. And in the meantime, a lot has happened. Or well, mainly one pretty important thing: lead actors Joey King and Jacob Elordi were a cute couple in the movie and outside of it as well; they had quite a long relationship. Had, yes, because they are already broken up. So I'm secretly a bit curious about how those promotional events will go between these ex-lovers, but I'm mainly curious about how Ellie and Noah are doing in The Kissing Booth 2. IT'S TAKING SO LONG.

The release date is already known, by the way. It comes to Netflix on July 23rd. And the trailer has just dropped. And to be honest: it looks great again. Noah and Ellie had a nice summer together, hanging out all lovey-dovey, and smart boy Noah flew to Harvard afterwards. And Ellie didn't, because she's still in high school and long-distance relationships are not exactly easy.

Because then a new attractive boy comes to school who wants to win Ellie over for The Kissing Booth (because yes, with such success their fair can't do without it, of course), that leads to a friendship and that becomes difficult for her relationship with Noah. Trust decreases, arguments, and that distance... Enough drama, drama, drama, so I'm EXCITED. Finally, another nice guilty pleasure that you already know in advance is going to be awesome. Great.
