I watched Love, Guaranteed so you don't have to.

Since last weekend I've lost a few brain cells. Well, a few... I fear it's actually a huge amount. On Sunday (the ideal day for it), I watched the latest Netflix addition, which I honestly thought would be okay. As in: I thought it would be a fun movie. Because I'm really not a difficult audience. Serve me a random romcom and I'll be quite satisfied. But this... No. Love, Guaranteed is no high-flyer, that's something that's for sure.

Now I could have known that a little bit in advance. A woman runs her own law firm and is approached by Nick, who wants to file a lawsuit against the company Love, Guaranteed. That's a dating company and after about a thousand dates, he hasn't found love even though that's guaranteed. A THOUSAND dates. In the category of ‘not going well’ and ‘really believable’ this plot scores a 10 right away.

And then of course right the ultimate cliché, because lawyer Susan is oh so clumsy. But oh oh oh, Nick finds that cute and endearing. She's so delightfully quirky. And inexperienced in dating, so how is she supposed to assist him in such a big case? There's only one thing to do (according to the movie): Susan has to date. No, Susan shouldn't prepare by actually doing her job, apparently legal matters are only won if you have experience.

By the way, I think that's a dangerous view if a lawyer has to assist a serial killer. But well, this is a romcom, so it has to be. Susan goes on dates and you wouldn't expect it, but she's clumsy there too and oh oh oh, all the men want nothing to do with her. Except for Nick. He sees how fun she is.

AND THEN. I could handle all of this... Until the end. Then I really wanted to throw something at the TV. Because the case starts, very high profile, super exciting and it actually seems like Susan and Nick are going to win it. But guys and girls, love is of course much more important and Nick declares — how romantic — that he drops the case. Because Love, Guaranteed has given him love. Thanks to them, he met Susan and she is his One True Love. May I have a bucket, please? I didn't know there could be so many clichés in one movie. And, sorry: the acting performances weren't exactly great, especially Susan's.

In short: this is a film full of clichés, uninteresting main characters with no chemistry, predictable plots and they probably took on the challenge to cram as many stereotypes as possible into an hour and a half. Well, that at least succeeded. NEXT.
