Just a bit about Máxima and that one glove

Maxima waving from the car with one glove on, laughing

Have you ever noticed that Máxima only wears one glove? Well, I finally know why.

Many queens and members of various royal houses always wear gloves. Firstly, because it immediately gives you a ‘regal’ look, even without a crown, but it is also hygienic and it creates a certain magic that is maintained.

Queen Elizabeth has been ordering her gloves from Cornelia James for over seventy years and she particularly likes the white cotton ones.

Máxima has the entire Pantone color palette in her glove drawer and also varies in length, although she usually wears a short glove that leads exactly to her wrist bone and provides a nice stage for her Cartier Tank watch.

Lady Diana was one of the first royals to literally throw the glove into the ring. She really wanted to connect with people, so also skin to skin when she shook someone's hand.

Máxima is slightly less provocative and is a master at finding the perfect balance. She wears gloves but actually has the left glove on and carries the right glove loosely in her left hand. This way, she can actually touch someone with her right hand and the left glove emphasizes the official nature of her visit. Moreover, such a glove is quite pleasant when you have to hold that twisted bouquet tight.
