Khloé Kardashian, what are you doing now?
When I say the Kardashians, you immediately think of... Money? Status? Plastic surgery? Of course their reality series, in which it also clearly comes to light that each family member is doing quite well. They have built a great empire for a family that actually became famous after a leaked sex tape of one family member. Hats off.
So, Khloé, why are you doing this? On Scott Disick's Instagram page (with over 23 million followers — a bit meager for the Kardashian clan) he has just posted another giveaway. I say ‘another’, yes, because I've seen this kind of action come by before, with Kylie for example. But this time it's Khloé (and it's also on her own account).
Just a mental sketch: Khloé poses for — excuse me, on — a car, in her Louboutins, surrounded by Louis Vuitton bags. What is the giveaway? A Visa credit card with $50K on it and all the depicted Louis Vuitton items. A pretty lavish prize, but Visa and Louis Vuitton have nothing to do with the action, which is set up by Curated Business, a marketing agency.
And really, that giveaway looks so tacky. Why are you doing this? I assume they earn enough, even with their Instagram. Such an incredibly ordinary action that actually comes off as quite shady is really not necessary? And Scott posts this quite often on his Insta account. I really want to see or speak to someone who actually won this contest. It's a pretty big prize, so where are those winners who are waving around with such a credit card and with twenty LV bags on their arm?
I often find myself surprised by the collaborations the Kardashians engage in on Instagram. They will make a lot of money from it... But really, Kylie, advertising for a makeup brand while you also have a makeup line? Khloé recently had a gigantic collaboration with Pampers, which I understand a bit more because yes: she has a child. But to be so money-hungry and to involve your little daughter in such a campaign? I don't think she really needs that money now.
Kylie also had a collaboration a while ago, with a coffee and sandwich shop like Starbucks. As if anyone believes that Miss Jenner casually works her way through a bagel with roast beef and a hefty portion of sauce or goes out daily to ‘just’ grab a coffee. I don't necessarily know if I really follow the Kardashians for their credibility, but still, I find this kind of collaborations even for them to go too far.
