The series for when you've finished Élite

New series Control Z

That Élite is awesome, I probably don't need to tell you that. I don't need to say that anymore. When I saw the very first trailer, I thought it would be some kind of Gossip Girl series, but it turned out to be something quite different, right? Rich kids are definitely present, but Élite is a bit grimmer and a little spicier than the fights between Blair and Serena. No comment by the way, because I love Élite and I really enjoy more of these kinds of series.

Well, you ask, we deliver, Netflix must have thought (I hope), and they are delivering: here is Control Z, a Spanish series from Mexico that will soon be available on Netflix: May 22. Mexico is doing quite well by the way: twenty titles from them are coming to Netflix this year. TWENTY. Hallelujah, then we as Dutch people should also get to work. Because Ares, we're not talking about that anymore, right? It's understandable that rumors are going around that Undercover seasons 2 and 3 will be dropped at the same time. We need to keep up with the other countries.

But first, Control Z. This is about a hacker who is active at a school called El Colegio Nacional. And I know I made the hasty comparison between Gossip Girl and Élite before, but there is also an Upper East Side vibe to this. The hacker causes quite a bit of panic because he/she is leaking the most intimate secrets of the students online. Um, Gossip Girl much? You know you love me, xoxo.

The consequence of these secrets being out is that the popular kids suddenly aren't so popular anymore (too many intense secrets?) and the outcasts are staging a coup for the throne. Complete chaos, and usually, popular kids aren't known for easily giving up their status... And that doesn't happen here either. Student Sofia decides she won't take it anymore and goes on a quest: who is this hacker ruining everyone's teenage life?

You can check the teaser below, and if you thought it would be a bit in the style of Mean Girls regarding secrets on the street: oh hell no. Here, people are fighting, cars are being stolen, and the most interesting part is that you can protect yourself by leaking someone else's lies to the hacker. And what does this mean? Exactly, that from May 22 we have a new addiction.
