There is a 76 percent chance that one of you will cheat at some point

Cheating is not that shocking, according to the numbers. In fact, the chance is quite large that you will encounter it at some point.
A a bit interesting I do find it interesting, those studies that start quite seriously with: ‘Monogamy is not for humans! Monogamy does not exist!’
Well, there's quite a bit of truth to that. According to researchers, there is a 76 percent chance that one of you will cheat at some point. The tricky thing about numbers on cheating is that not everyone interprets cheating the same way. Some consider kissing, watching porn, flirting, solo sex, and a bit of messaging with someone not much of a problem. Or one slip-up after a bachelor party. Others find it already troubling if there is any looking at a new potential partner.
What we do know? Men do not cheat more often than women: we can all do it. A quarter says they have done it at least once – man or woman, young or old. ‘Almost everyone cheats at some point,’ is what you hear in the media. On the dating site Second Love, which is specifically made for people in relationships who still want to flirt and date, nearly a million people have signed up. Cheating is quite popular, it seems.
Yet we always think: ‘But that won't happen to me.’ If you ask people what they think the chance is that someone in a relationship cheats, they estimate it at 42 percent. If you ask those same people what they think about their own partner, 5 percent say they think cheating will occur in their relationship at some point. 8 percent think they themselves will cheat at some point. No way near that 76 percent, then.
Well, if it happens, it happens. But maybe don't be too naive. If your partner is constantly on that phone, the phone is a bit hidden, your love is going to vague parties, pubs or bars with vague colleagues and names you barely know... Then you might want to have a talk. Or go out yourself, that works too.
