These Swedish crime dramas are coming to Netflix

Swedish series Netflix The Lawyer

If there's anything exciting, it's Scandinavian crime series. I don't need to tell you that anymore. I'm still completely lyrical about Kalifat, or such a series where I annoyingly command people that they ‘really have to watch’. Skipping this or not liking it does not exist in my world. And I apologize in advance, because that's probably going to happen again. With no less than two series.

The series The Lawyer and Rebecka Martinsson will be added on September 1st. And that doesn't work out very well for me personally, because September 1st is my birthday — on which I turn 21 for the tenth time — and then it feels so strange to lock yourself inside all day with series. On the other hand: it’s my party so there's a good chance that this is exactly what will happen.

The Lawyer, or Advokaten, is a series that first aired in 2018 and is still ongoing. The main character is — you wouldn't expect it — indeed a lawyer named Frank Nordling, who discovers that the most important client of his firm is responsible for the murder of his parents. After that discovery, he seeks revenge and gradually gets entangled in the Swedish underworld. Exciting.

Rebecka Martinsson has a familiar face, namely Ida Engvoll, and we know her from The Bridge. The series dates back to 2017 and revolves — again, you wouldn't expect this — indeed around Rebecka Martinsson, a successful lawyer. She helps the police solve crimes after a childhood friend of hers is found dead. Tip: Netflix only comes up with season one, but season two can be seen on NPO Plus. Handy.

I am very curious whether Netflix will come with the dubbed version (please not) or with the Swedish version. I think the latter is the case, so that's already a big plus. I always find those dubbings so dull. So these will be two very nice additions because both trailers look quite good. Praise it.
