Trinkets season 2 is now on Netflix

Wow, that was quite a nice surprise. Just like every day, I open Netflix, hoping for a nice surprise and yes indeed: today it was definitely there. Trinkets season 2 is online and I am going to watch it tonight. The first season came out last summer and I personally found it surprisingly enjoyable. I don't think it was a huge hit in the Netherlands. Too bad, because it was very easy to watch and was something different from the standard coming-of-age series.
Just a refresher regarding the story: Elodie has lost her mother and is therefore forced to live with her father and stepmother. To deal with that death, she finds an outlet, namely robbing stores. But then she gets caught and part of her punishment is attending support groups for kleptomaniacs. There she meets Moe and Tabitha, with whom she becomes friends.
That first season ended quite dramatically. Elodie's father found her secret stash of stolen goods and confronted her, after which she ran away. She decided to join her girlfriend on tour, who is a musician. Rebellious teenager 2.0. Meanwhile, Tabitha's ex (the most popular boy in school) found out that his incredibly expensive car had been wrecked (and then pushed into a lake) by her and her friends. His rich daddy doesn't find that very amusing, so the police were called.
So there's plenty going on in that second season. In the trailer, we already see that they are being interrogated by the police. And it looks like they haven't exactly left their shoplifting days behind and they're not exactly averse to drinking either. Add some high school drama to that and you have a delightful binge-worthy series.
Even better is that the episodes are around 25 minutes each, ten in total. It's not the absolute top-tier, but I have a feeling that this second season will be just as fun as the first. Never seen it? Well, then you know what you need to do.
