Win a high tea with May

So I wrote a book. That is probably rolling off the press at the printer today. Of course, I wanted to peek in there, were it not that my book is being printed in Slovenia and it became a case of ‘nice idea, we won't do that’. Something else in that list was a big launch party. Or even better: with my professional friends taking the Thalys to Paris and having lunch in one of the many five-star hotels that inspired the stories in my book. Way too expensive, of course. Then we would eat at Alain Caron, but then corona came with a long snout and blew the whole story away.

But of course, I'm not easily caught and dreaming is free, so I thought: where would I most like to show my book to the world? There was a location that immediately made me tingle: the Amstel Hotel. What magic that place has. I have been allowed to walk in Ruby Wax's room there (I'll tell you about it another time, one of the best days of my life) and I go there every year at Christmas to take the ritual picture for the tree. I can dream of their bitterballen and oh, how I would love to spend a day talking with the staff about all the guests who stayed there. Prince, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, George Clooney…

I can soon add myself to that list, because when it comes to bucket list meets dreams come true, I will check that off next week. Because, sorry, I'm digressing, I would like to hold that book launch at the Amstel. And if possible in a suite. And there I wanted to receive my famous friends. Champagne with one, a high tea with another, and a bitterbal with Beau.
