21 rather remarkable things that this lockdown does to me

We may come home at ten o'clock,’ I happily shouted to my friend this week. He burst out laughing. It does indeed sound like you're fourteen and finally managing to sneak in a later curfew on a weekday. Although I don't really have a need to come home late, this lockdown is doing strange things to me.
1. I enjoy sitting in the sun on the bench in front of my house. A little nod to passersby, drinking tea (?), chatting with my neighbors. It won't be much more than 60+.
2. Sometimes I scroll through my film roll from 2019 to check if all that happened in one year. I can't even imagine having to do in one week what I did in one day back then. You get tired just thinking about it, right?
3. I watch airplanes. We say it to each other at home too. Like: ‘Hey, an airplane.’ And then dream away a bit as if you're in it yourself.
4. So it felt like one big party that we can come home an hour later. Getting happy from little things is suddenly really very different.
5. The lockdown has made me a morning person. I get up at six to exercise, then I meditate and I still have time to see the sunrise in the garden. I hardly recognize myself anymore.
6. A walk in a different habitat is the highlight of the week. I was as happy as a child when I was allowed to roam in the Kennemerduinen There you really want to make a sunrise walk once. Yes, for that you have to get out of bed unchristianly early.
7. Sometimes I think I can smell the pub. I need to keep an eye on this, because that borders on losing your mind.
8. Just a little more about that early exercising, I also wonder how that will work in the future. I enjoy getting up at six, but then I naturally fall asleep at the table with friends around ten. I still need to think about this.
9. I believe that I am really going to miss my DHL delivery person too. I can already feel it. . It's a reassuring thought that at the Fieldlab festival everyone apparently threw the one and a half meters overboard in a nanosecond. I'm always afraid that I'll suddenly jump one and a half meters in the air if someone touches me unexpectedly. I've forgotten how to hug outside my household.
10. With everyone who sneezes or coughs, we say in a strange German (?) accent: coroooonaaa. I'm secretly waiting for the moment the first one starts cursing, that's a milestone.
11. We also become a bit out of touch with the world, because every time the bell rings unexpectedly, we look at each other as if we're about to be picked up and taken away. It's almost like drawing straws to see who has to open the door. You'd think we enjoy seeing people, but that turns out to be disappointing.
12. You start to appreciate your home. I don't quite say 'good morning' and 'good night' to it yet, but I feel a bond.
13. I bought a printer. A printer, guys. Suddenly I couldn't print my return labels at the office anymore, so it was just pure necessity. Honestly: who else did this?.
14. By the way, I'm quite disappointed that I still don't speak Greek. I bought that home study back in October, you'd think this should be going smoothly. Maybe I should just open the book once.
15. I see and talk to my neighbor more often than my best friend. Just to illustrate: my neighbor is in her sixties and walks her little dog six times a day.
16. The last piece of clothing I bought is still hanging unworn in my closet. Really a very nice long pink blazer, but I just have no reason to wear it. What was I thinking?.
17. In the meantime, I've gotten everything ergonomically at home. A cushion in my back, a laptop stand, and yes, also that footrest from Ikea.
18. Never thought I couldn't live without.
19. noise cancelling headphones anymore. While the noise here is really not that bad. How did I do that before, before corona? I also keep thinking that I want to declutter and lead a minimalist life. Thank God it stays just thoughts.
20. Going to the supermarket is the highlight of my week (that's how you stay.
21. as long as you can in the Jumbo ). Even though I still have to make an effort to go, not much has changed about that.adeline laughing.
