Demi Lovato: ‘I would like to date an alien’
Look, everyone has their thing, of course, I don't judge that quickly, but I really don't have the impression that things are going well for Demi Lovato lately. And I don't mean the overdose that the singer – thank God – survived in 2018, no, I'm talking about their latest collaboration with the website Gaia. I actually have quite a bit to say about that.
I wasn't familiar with that site, so I did some research. And I can tell you: they stand for crazy things, you know. They call themselves the ‘Netflix of spirituality’, I call them ‘crazies’ and I really feel like I have a better grasp on this.
Gaia is also known as a platform that is a big supporter of various conspiracy theories. For example, they believe in the existence of ‘lizard people’. This would be a race, half reptile and half human, that is slowly taking over our world. Hm-hm. Additionally, it has become a hub for QAnon supporters and anti-vaxxers, and there are antisemitic theories to be found. Quite a cheerful place, then.
And Demi has recently become an ambassador for that, much to the dismay of their fans. Demi's interest in Gaia was sparked by their fascination with extraterrestrial beings, something Demi firmly believes in. Now, I'm not so shortsighted as to think that we are alone in this entire universe, but Demi takes it a step further: the singer would actually like to date an extraterrestrial being.
Uh, what? In a conversation with Becky G, Demi said they would definitely be open to that. ‘Absolutely, I'm so done with people and their bullshit. I'm over it, just bring me an extraterrestrial being,’ Demi said laughing. Whether it's actually a joke remains to be seen, given their recent statements about encounters with aliens. The singer also opens up about the time they performed for a room full of ghosts in Vulture City (Arizona).
‘I've never had a standing ovation from ghosts, or I prefer to assume that they at least stood up.’ Uh, what? Can someone check if Demi is doing okay?
