Eating chocolate during your pregnancy leads to a smarter child

Of those news items you have been fervently hoping for years would be true. And we just happened to find this gem. Eating chocolate is really good for you, especially when you are pregnant.

Eating chocolate during your pregnancy leads to a smarter and even healthier child. Look at that. And if science says it…

Snack away
You might not want to think about it because of your morning sickness, but eating chocolate while pregnant is a very good plan, according to scientific research. A Canadian research team has shown that chocolate contains several substances that are important during pregnancy. And this is especially true for dark, pure cocoa: it contains antioxidants that simply put, prevent your cells from aging. Great for mom then. These substances in chocolate also have a positive effect on blood circulation in the placenta. As you know, the placenta is incredibly important for your unborn baby: it nourishes your child and protects it from all harmful substances from the outside. And – on top of that – eating chocolate reduces the risk of pregnancy poisoning.

Moreover, a bite of chocolate gives your mood a nice boost, as we all know. It simply makes you happier and that is always good for the health of both mother and child. And occasionally a small piece of your pure bar is therefore NOT enough. You can have more. Pregnant women who eat chocolate five times a week have a 40 percent lower chance of getting sick, experts say. Experts that we actually now find incredibly fun.

Happy baby
Five times a week sounds divine. But that's not all. Other scientific research shows that mothers who eat chocolate every day have happier babies, who laugh more and cry less. When a child is six months old, scientists notice a difference between groups of children whose mothers ate a lot of chocolate during pregnancy and children whose mothers did not. Well, need we say more? Which pregnant friend needs to know this? Exactly: all mothers want to know this.
